The end of the line in the south
Today's Saigon Station sits in Hoa Hung, about 3 km from Ben Thanh market; the old station used to stand right by Ben Thanh. SE trains leave from here for Hanoi, SNT trains for Nha Trang and SPT trains for Phan Thiet. Around the station are older residential streets such as Ly Chinh Thang and Cach Mang Thang Tam.

Many travellers arriving from the north continue to the Mekong Delta, which has no railway: My Tho and Ben Tre are about 1.5 hours away, Can Tho about 3.5 hours by expressway. Vung Tau beach is about 2 hours; Ho Tram and Long Hai are similar. Tay Ninh and Ba Den Mountain take about 2.5 hours.
