When renting a pickup for cargo or site work, the details people often miss are the legal payload and how to keep the load dry in the rain.
A pickup truck is built for cargo, rough roads and outdoor work. Companies, farms, photographers and adventure groups rent pickups for loads that do not fit a normal car. This guide explains what to check before you hire one.

Check the cargo bed size and the legal payload, not just what fits. Overloading is unsafe and may be fined. Tell the operator the weight and dimensions of your load. You can browse pickup trucks before you send a request.
Most pickups seat four to five in the cab. The ride is firmer than a sedan, so it suits work and adventure more than long comfort trips.
Pickups handle rough or wet roads better, but check tyres and four-wheel-drive options for mountain or rural routes. Rain can close dirt roads, so allow flexibility.
Ask whether a cargo cover is available and secure loads with straps. Protect electronic gear from dust and rain.
Tip from Car Rental Vietnam: Photograph the secured load before the vehicle sets off; if there is ever a question about damage, the photos make things much clearer.
