Monthly car rental: 4-seater or 7-seater? Unlike a one-off holiday rental, a monthly car is part of daily life: commuting, school runs, shopping, parking at your apartment and the occasional trip out of town. The wrong size means a month of squeezing in, or a month of high fuel bills and parking headaches. Choose by how you will actually use it.

A 4-seater fits 1–3 passengers and up to about 3 suitcases. Over a month, its biggest advantage is everyday ease: it fits apartment bays and alleys, uses less fuel in stop-and-go traffic and is light to drive. Downsides: a cramped rear bench for three adults on long trips and a small boot at holiday time. See 4-seater cars.
A 7-seater is most comfortable for 4–5 passengers and up to about 4 suitcases. With all seven seats in use there is almost no luggage space left. Advantages: room for the whole family, child seats and a stroller, higher ground clearance for rainy-season puddles, and a folding third row for bulky items. The fuel type is your choice; request it when you book. Over a month, weigh it against how you drive each day:
