A Solati's seat count does not establish its luggage capacity. Seat layout, rear storage and case dimensions vary between vehicles, so send a baggage list before confirming the booking.

        Keep aisles and exits clear

Heavy bags belong in suitable secured luggage space. Keep cases out of aisles, exits and occupied seats. A near-capacity group with large suitcases should consider a larger vehicle rather than squeezing everything into a minibus.

Where luggage goes in a Solati

A separate compartment behind the last row

The Solati has a luggage area separated from the cabin behind the rear seats, opened from the back doors. Cases stand in a row rather than sitting at people's feet or on spare seats. Because it is enclosed, bags stay dry on the move, and passengers do not climb over luggage to get off.

        Overhead racks

Inside the cabin there are racks above the seats for hand luggage: backpacks, handbags and jackets. Heavy or hard items should not go up there, as they can fall under braking.

        Not in the aisle

The aisle must stay clear for boarding and in case of an emergency exit. Drivers do not load cases into it.

        Passengers Luggage Suggestion

When booking, tell us the number of large cases, carry-ons and bulky items such as pushchairs, golf bags or boxes. We will plan ahead and suggest an option: keep a few rear seats free, add a small car for luggage, or move up to a larger vehicle.

        Packing the compartment well

        1. Large hard cases upright against the last row, wheels down, handles retracted.
        2. Medium cases as a second layer, laid flat above them if there is height.
        3. Soft bags and backpacks in the gaps so nothing shifts on corners.
        4. Fragile or upright items, like cake boxes or gift bottles, loaded last or carried in the cabin.

Groups can help by combining loose items into one big bag rather than several small ones, and by retracting handles before handing cases over.

        Vehicle size and pickup points

        Seating the group

Meeting a group at Tan Son Nhat

        1. Send the flight number and passenger count. The driver tracks the flight and waits if it is late, with no waiting fee.
        2. Once bags are collected, the group leader calls the driver to agree the exact pickup pillar in the pickup zone.
        3. The driver loads cases in drop-off order: bags for the first stop go nearest the door.
        4. Count the cases before leaving so nothing stays on the carousel.

There is no luggage surcharge, and no night surcharge for late arrivals.

        Several drop-off points

When a group splits across hotels or homes, how bags are loaded decides how long each stop takes. Send the drop-off list in order; the driver loads bags for the last stop deepest and the first stop nearest the door. Each sub-group can mark their cases with a name tag or coloured ribbon for quick identification.

        Three real-world examples

An overseas Vietnamese family home for Tết

Twelve people, a large case each plus gift boxes. The compartment cannot take it all, so either keep the last two rows for luggage or add a 7-seater for bags. Book early for Tết, when 16-seaters are in heavy demand.

A company conference in Phan Thiet

Fourteen people with carry-on cases and boxes of documents and banners. Small cases go on the racks or in the rear; long banners lie flat on the compartment floor. Send banner sizes beforehand.

        Three generations to Da Lat

Ten people with two pushchairs and a folding wheelchair. Grandparents sit in front, the wheelchair and pushchairs go in first, cases around them, and the last row holds snacks and gifts bought on the way.

        Multi-day trips

On three or four-day trips to Da Lat, Nha Trang or the Mekong Delta, groups buy local specialities. Leave room: if the compartment is full on day one, it will overflow on the way home. The driver helps load at every stop. The driver's lodging and meals are already in the price; on any evening the group asks the driver to join dinner, send us a quick note and we take that meal off.

        In the rainy season

The enclosed compartment keeps cases dry while driving. When loading in rain, the driver opens the rear doors and works quickly. Pack a light raincoat in your hand luggage, since the walk from van to lobby is not always covered.

Soft bags and cardboard gift boxes are the items that suffer in wet weather. Wrap boxes in plastic bags before the trip, and put electronics inside a hard case or in your hand luggage. If you arrive at a hotel during a downpour, ask staff whether there is a covered side entrance; the driver can pull up there to unload. On the road, the driver slows down well before flooded stretches so water does not spray up under the van, and will wait rather than push through water deep enough to hide the kerb.

Solati, two smaller vehicles, or a coach?

Sometimes the luggage, not the headcount, decides the vehicle. A quick way to choose:

We will lay out the options side by side in the quote so you can compare comfort and logistics.

Departure day: getting to the airport on time

Return trips are where luggage causes delays. Agree a loading time fifteen minutes before departure and ask everyone to bring cases down to the lobby by then. The driver loads in one pass instead of waiting for late arrivals. Weigh cases the night before if your airline is strict on limits; repacking at the check-in desk can take longer than the drive. For international flights from Tan Son Nhat, plan to reach the terminal about three hours before departure, more during holidays and Friday evenings when traffic around the airport is heavy. Before leaving the hotel, the group leader does a final count of passengers and cases, and checks the overhead racks and seat pockets for passports, phones and chargers.

What the group leader should confirm

        Send a request

Assess the complete Solati airport load

A group can fit the seats but still exceed available storage. Check rear space with all required seats in use and declare strollers, long items and non-stackable cases. Count people and bags before leaving. Heavy luggage needs suitable storage rather than an aisle position to make the load fit.
