Tay Ninh – Ba Den Mountain: the classic day trip from Ho Chi Minh City

A Ho Chi Minh City to Ba Den Mountain car rental is one of the most popular day trips in the south, and for Car Rental Vietnam it is the group route we run most on full-moon days, the first day of the lunar month and early-year festivals. Since 1 July 2025, Tay Ninh and Long An have merged into the new Tay Ninh province, and Ba Den Mountain is now in Binh Minh ward. Tay Ninh welcomed about 7.45 million visitors in the first 9 months of 2026, up 18.8% year on year. The new cable car schedule and ticket prices below will help you plan.

Tay Ninh is famous for Trang Bang noodle soup (banh canh) and dew-dried rice paper. There are many Trang Bang banh canh shops along National Road 22 from Ho Chi Minh City, making it the most sensible breakfast stop for a group.

        Frequently asked questions

Can I visit Ba Den Mountain in one day?

Yes. Leave early and you will have time for both cable cars and the Holy See, back in Ho Chi Minh City by evening.

        Which vehicle for a group of 20 – 30?

A 29-seat coach fits well; groups over 30 should take a 45-seat coach. For full-moon and first-of-month days, book at least a week ahead.

Is it worth going in the afternoon for the after-5 pm ticket?

According to Sun World's price list, the after-5 pm ticket is cheaper and you can watch sunset from the summit, but you will get back late, so a car with driver is less tiring.
