Quy Nhon by car: getting there, Ky Co and Eo Gio, what to eat and when to go. Since the 2025 merger of Binh Dinh and Gia Lai, Quy Nhon is the central ward of Gia Lai province. The seaside city has beaches, Cham towers and the Phuong Mai peninsula close by, ideal for exploring by car at a family's pace. Here is how to plan, choose a vehicle and avoid rough-sea days.
September to November is the rainy and storm season on the central coast, and boats to the islands may stop when the sea is rough. From late December the weather is usually kinder for sightseeing by car, but check the forecast before any sea trip. Around Tết, prices are higher than usual and bookings usually need a deposit of about 10%.
Banh xeo with jumping shrimp, banh hoi with pork offal porridge and fish cake noodle soup are easy to find in Quy Nhon. Seafood places line the coast; ask the price before ordering by weight.
Family of 3–4 with light luggage: a 4-seater takes about 3 suitcases. Larger families or more luggage: a 7-seater takes about 4. Company groups: a 16-seater. Chauffeur prices include fuel and tolls, every quote gets 10% off, and an 8% VAT invoice is issued on request. See also one-way prices from Quy Nhon.
Since 2025, Gia Lai province (merged from Gia Lai and Binh Dinh).
