A station in the middle of a beach town
The station sits about 1.5 km from Tran Phu beach, facing the old streets around Thai Nguyen and Le Thanh Ton. It dates from the French period and serves the SE trains running Hanoi – Saigon as well as the SNT trains on the Saigon – Nha Trang line. A few hundred metres away is Christ the King Cathedral (Nha Tho Nui), a stone church on a small hill and often the first thing passengers visit.
Travellers from Saigon usually take the night train, sleep in a berth and arrive around 5–6 am. That is exactly when a street taxi is hard to find, so book ahead and your driver will be waiting at the exit with a name sign.
Carrying on after the train
Many travellers take the train to Nha Trang and switch to a car, since Da Lat and Ninh Chu have no passenger station. There are two roads up to Da Lat: the Khanh Le pass (QL27C), about 135 km, scenic with many bends and frequent afternoon fog; or the longer loop via Phan Rang and the Ngoan Muc pass, with gentler gradients. Ninh Chu and Vinh Hy are 1.5–2 hours away via the Nha Trang – Cam Lam – Vinh Hao expressway or Highway 1.
For Phu Yen, the car heads north through the Deo Ca tunnel and can stop at Ganh Da Dia and Mui Dien in one day.

Two or three people fit a 4-seater; families with small children and luggage take a 7-seater.
