Administrative changes to know
Since 1 July 2025 districts no longer exist; the area now comprises Gò Vấp, Hạnh Thông, An Nhơn, An Hội Đông, An Hội Tây, Thông Tây Hội wards, HCMC. Locals still use the old district name.
The two-tier model (province, then commune or ward) applies from 1 July 2025, so old district names no longer appear on new documents. When booking for Go Vap, old names, new names or a map pin all work.

Getting around near the airport

Go Vap and nearby
Former Go Vap borders Tan Son Nhat airport to the south, with Phuoc Tuong and Go pagodas, Xom Thuoc church and Ong Go Vap shrine. Gia Dinh Cultural Park on Hoang Minh Giam is a large green space beside the airport. Phan Van Tri, Nguyen Oanh and Quang Trung have many eateries and cafés. Since 2025 the area forms Hanh Thong, An Nhon, Go Vap, An Hoi Dong, Thong Tay Hoi and An Hoi Tay wards. Go Vap reaches Tan Son Nhat Terminal 3 via the extended Tran Quoc Hoan road in about 10–20 minutes. North via Highway 1A leads to Binh Duong and Cu Chi; An Phu Dong bridge links District 12.
Many alleys are narrow, so 16-seaters and larger pick up on main roads such as Nguyen Van Luong or Pham Van Dong.
