Sa Dec flower village by car: the route from Ho Chi Minh City, the Tết flower season and parking tips. Sa Dec flower village lies on the Tien River in Sa Dec ward, Dong Thap province (merged from Dong Thap and Tien Giang in 2025). The craft village dates back to the late 19th century, grows around 2,000 varieties of flowers and ornamental plants, and looks its best in the weeks before Tết. It makes an easy family trip from Ho Chi Minh City or Can Tho.
The village is open year-round as the growers work, but it is liveliest about a month before Tết, when gardens prepare spring flowers. Mornings and late afternoons are the nicest times to visit. The first day of Tết 2027 is Saturday 6 February; roads to the Mekong Delta are busy just before Tết, so set off early.
Sa Dec noodle soup and Lai Vung fermented pork rolls are local specialities; the pork rolls are also a popular gift to take home.
Family of 3–4: a 4-seater. Larger families or if you plan to buy plants: a 7-seater. Company groups: a 16-seater. Travel guides for this trip
For Sa Dec Flower Village, choose the gardens you want to visit and confirm each address and visiting time with the venue. The village name identifies an area, not one shared entrance for every garden. Larger groups should check parking and the walk from the vehicle to each stop. If adding lunch or travelling onward to Cao Lanh, send the stops in order to avoid unnecessary backtracking. Agree on pickup time, vehicle service hours and any garden admission or activity charges before travelling.
View the destination reference point on the map. This marker identifies the destination area; confirm the exact pickup address or meeting point when booking.
