A pilgrimage to Our Lady of Bai Dau and Our Lady of Ta Pao from Ho Chi Minh City by private vehicle. The Our Lady of Bai Dau shrine by the sea in Vung Tau and Our Lady of Ta Pao in the hills of Tanh Linh are two Marian shrines dear to many Catholics in the South. Here is how to arrange a one- or two-day pilgrimage, choose a vehicle and prepare so you can focus on prayer.
The shrine includes a church and a statue of Our Lady holding the Child Jesus on the slope of Nui Lon, facing the sea, in the Diocese of Ba Ria. Pilgrims usually attend Mass at the shrine church, then follow the steps and Stations of the Cross up to the statue. There are many steps, so elderly pilgrims should go slowly and bring water.
From HCMC you can take the expressway; see the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau expressway and car rental from HCMC to Vung Tau.
The Ta Pao Marian shrine sits on Ta Pao mountain in the Diocese of Phan Thiet, with an outdoor altar and steps up to the statue of Our Lady. The quiet hills suit a time of reflection and praying the Rosary together.
Mass times may change with the liturgical season and feast days; please check each pilgrimage centre's announcements before confirming.
The driver waits during Mass and your visit to the shrine. Chauffeur prices include fuel and tolls, the fleet is 2022–2025 models, and every quote gets 10% off.
They lie in different directions, so one day is very rushed. We recommend two days.
Weekends and Marian feast days are usually busy. Leave early and book ahead.
Depending on the plan, in Vung Tau or near Ta Pao; tell us when booking so we can plan the route.

Wear modest clothes and comfortable shoes for the steps at Bai Dau. Bring water, hats and a small offering if your group plans one.
Check Mass times at each shrine and set the departure time from them. For two days, book rooms near Ta Pao in advance on feast days.
See group pilgrimage coach and 29-seater hire.
Can we do both in one day? It is a long day; two days is easier.
Can the coach park near the shrines? Check parking on feast days.
