Thung Ui is in Tay Hoa Lu ward, inside the Trang An heritage core zone, and officially opened on the first day of the 2026 lunar new year, 17 February 2026. Introductions describe a lake, largely untouched scenery and cultural and spiritual relics, visited by boat. Tickets start from about 100,000 VND; check prices for each visitor type and boat packages at the official ticket office before going.
Hoa Lu old quarter in Hoa Lu ward has become a favourite evening spot for young visitors (Van Hoa newspaper), with many cultural and arts events in the evening. If you stay overnight in Ninh Binh, it is a great place for an after-dinner walk.
The two best-known specialities are mountain goat and crispy rice (com chay). Around Trang An and Tam Coc there are many restaurants serving groups. We have not found recent major-press reviews of any single restaurant here, so we only give basic information and suggest you cross-check.

Main route: from central Hanoi go to Phap Van, take the Phap Van – Cau Gie Expressway, continue on the Cau Gie – Ninh Binh Expressway, exit at Ninh Binh and follow the link road to Hoa Lu – Trang An, about 90 – 100 km.
