An islet in the Hau River
Con Son has a few hundred households living from fruit orchards and fish farming in floating cages. Many families open their gardens to visitors: picking rambutan, mango and rose apple in season, watching the 'flying snakehead' feeding show, making folk cakes and paddling a sampan around the islet. Lunch is often clay-roasted snakehead and fermented-fish hotpot.

Near the landing
Binh Thuy ancient house, a late 19th-century brick house mixing French and Vietnamese architecture, is a few kilometres from the landing and was used as a set for the film The Lover. Pothi Somarom Khmer pagoda and Binh Thuy communal house are close by too.
