After 1 July 2025 the district level was removed; new addresses show only the commune or ward and the province or city. Locals and drivers still use old names, so for Pleiku write your address as you know it or share a map location.

When to visit Pleiku
The dry season about November–April is clear; wild sunflowers bloom in November and white coffee blossoms in March. The rainy season about May–October still allows travel with afternoon showers. At about 750–800 m Pleiku has cool evenings, cold at night in the dry season. Bring a light jacket for early visits to Bien Ho.
Bien Ho, Minh Thanh pagoda and Chu Dang Ya
Bien Ho (T'Nung lake), about 7 km from central Pleiku, fills an ancient volcanic crater, reached by a pine-lined road and steps to the water. Minh Thanh pagoda has Japanese-style towers and gates, lit at night. Chu Dang Ya volcano in Chu Pah is covered in yellow wild sunflowers late in the year, with farmers growing sweet potatoes in the crater.
Since 2025 the new Gia Lai includes former Binh Dinh, with its centre in Quy Nhon; Pleiku remains the main highland city. The Bien Ho tea hills and the Jrai village of Plei Op have communal houses and tombs. Specialities include two-bowl dry pho, sun-dried beef with red ant salt and coffee.
