Administrative changes to know
Since 1 July 2025 former Ba Ria–Vung Tau is part of the new Ho Chi Minh City, so Long Hai now belongs to HCMC. "Long Hai" is still used in addresses.
Since 1 July 2025 local government has two tiers: province or city, and commune or ward. Districts no longer exist, but old names are still used every day. When booking in Long Hai, write your address the way you know it or send a map pin; drivers understand both old and new names.
Pick-up areas and choosing a vehicle
The route uses the HCMC – Long Thanh – Dau Giay expressway and the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway or Route 51, about 2–2.5 hours. Sunday afternoons back to HCMC are busy.

Long Hai is popular for company trips. A 29-seater takes about 18–22 bags; 45-seaters suit large groups.
Long Hai beaches and heritage
Long Hai has its main beach near the market, Rang beach to the east and Phuoc Hai beach. Dinh Co temple, honouring Le Thi Hong Tham, sits on a rocky mound over the sea. Minh Dam mountain was a resistance base, with caves, positions and trails to the summit over Long Hai and Phuoc Hai. The area has many weekend resorts and villas; cars pick up at the gate.
Phuoc Hai seafood market opens early with fresh fish, squid and crab, cooked to order at nearby restaurants. Long Hai is about 70 km from Long Thanh airport via the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway; that airport is not yet in commercial operation, so flights still use Tan Son Nhat.
