Tết 2027 car rental in Vietnam: when to book and what to know

Planning a car rental for Tết 2027? Book early. The first day of the Lunar New Year (Đinh Mùi) falls on Saturday 6 February 2027. Public offices close for seven days, from Thursday 4 February to Wednesday 10 February 2027, under Notice 11483/TB-BNV of 9 October 2026. Trips home, family visits and pagoda outings all fall into the same few days, so 7-seaters, group vans and limousines are booked out early. Tết 2027 calendar and peak rental days

Private-sector employers can choose 1–3 days off before Tết and 2–4 days after, so each family's travel dates may differ. The earlier you confirm dates, the easier it is for us to hold the right vehicle.

How early should you book?

• 16, 29 and 45-seat coaches and limousines: as early as possible, ideally in December.
• 4–7 seat cars with driver: at least 3–4 weeks ahead for 4–5 February and 9–10 February.
• Self-drive cars: early, because they are usually rented for the whole holiday. See documents for self-drive rental.

With a driver or self-drive?

Car with driver: best for long trips and big families

Roads out of the city are busy at Tết. With a car with driver, the price includes fuel and tolls for the quoted itinerary, and the driver waits while you sightsee or visit pagodas. For airport pickups, the driver tracks your flight in an app and waits if it is delayed, with no waiting fee.

Self-drive: best if you know the roads

Self-drive sedans start from 800,000–1,200,000 VND per day depending on the model. Self-drive prices exclude fuel and tolls, and Tết rates may differ from normal days. The Toyota Camry is available with a driver only.

Why Tết prices differ from normal days

• Demand is packed into a few days, and many one-way trips return empty.
• Drivers work away from their own families during the holiday.
• Traffic means longer hours on the same distance.

Choosing a vehicle for people and Tết gifts

• Sedan: 1–3 passengers, up to 3 bags.
• 7-seater: 4–5 passengers, up to 4 bags; 6 with light luggage.
• 16-seater: 10–13 passengers with luggage, 6–8 bags.
• Limousine 9 and 12 seats: 6–8 bags, roomy seats for older relatives.

Child seats are available on request. All vehicles are 2022–2025 models.

Deposit and contract

For Tết, the deposit to hold a vehicle is usually 10%. The contract lists the vehicle, times, route and price; it is sent to you and signed by both parties, and an 8% VAT invoice is available. Công Ty TNHH Tân Phước Travel holds full transport business licences.
