The Bac Lieu Prince's House was built around 1919 by the family of Tran Trinh Huy, with many materials shipped from France; part of it is now a hotel and museum. The memorial to composer Cao Van Lau, author of "Da co hoai lang", hosts folk music on some evenings.
Wind farm and coast
The Bac Lieu wind farm sits on coastal mudflats in Vinh Trach Dong, with turbines standing in the sea and a concrete walkway out for viewing. Quan Am Phat Dai at Nha Mat overlooks the sea. Bac Lieu bird sanctuary, about 5 km away, has storks and herons, lovely at dusk when birds return.
The Prince's house and don ca tai tu
The Bac Lieu Prince's House on the Bac Lieu River is a French villa built in 1919 for the Tran Trinh Huy family, now open to visitors and guests. The don ca tai tu memorial and the Cao Van Lau site, honouring the composer of Da Co Hoai Lang, has a large moon-lute monument. Since 2025 Bac Lieu is part of the new Ca Mau province. Specialities include banh xeo, spicy beef noodles, salted crab and Bac Lieu salt.
